Description
MDO
Foil
MDO PE films (Machine Direction Oriented / PET Replacement) are currently the most modern technology for the production of plastic films on a global scale. This product is the answer to the search for ecological solutions in the field of designed packaging. Laminates based on MDO PE and a sealing layer of LDPE (also in a high-barrier version for gases) meet the requirements of the circular economy, enabling the recycling of raw materials used in the production process. MDO film is a uniaxially oriented polyethylene of the LDPE type, which enables the production of homogeneous, mono-material packaging, 100% mechanically recyclable.
The MDO technology, by arranging polymer chains, gives the film properties unattainable for non-oriented films:
greater rigidity
greater transparency
greater durability
lower permeability to water vapor and gases
The unique selection of raw materials enables the production of MDO PE film in the HTR version, which is characterized by much higher temperature resistance than the standard version.
Due to its unique mechanical properties, MDO PE enables both surface and interlayer printing in flexo, offset and digital technology.
A typical laminate structure is:
MDO/PE
MDO/PE PEEL
MDO/PE/EVOH/PE
MDO/PE/EVOH/PE PEEL
